This is the Battle Field of 1812 at Sackets Harbour.I took this picture while visiting with my mom, dad, aunt and uncle last weekend. It was a beautiful place. This would be a great place to bring students to learn about the History that went on during 1812. The United States declared war on Great Britian in 1812. Sackets harbor became the main headquarters of the United States millitary for the northern frontier. This was a battle in which American farmers fought against British warships. This would be a great Social Studies Lesson for the upper grade levels such as 5th or 6th grade students. I think they would enjoy visiting Sackets Harbour and learning about the Battle Field of 1812 and what happened during this time.

That would be a great place to take students because it is rich in history. It would be especially nice during the fall so you could take about the weather changing and the trees changing.
