This is one of the themes that we could use so i picked it because it seems like we could learn from each others observations. In my host classroom, the teacher Mrs. Riley counts down 3, 2, 1 and when she reaches 1 everyone should be
quiet, if they aren't then she waits until they are so she can move on. Another interesting thing in my host classroom is that there is a special education teacher who works right in the classroom for a couple of hours each day because there are many inclusive students in the class.
In my host classroom, the teacher Mrs. Curran uses this rain stick and she picks it up and lets the beads fall to the bottle and then flips it over so the beads can go to the other end. She does this three times until the students are quite.
ReplyDeleteI also have Mrs. Curran and she uses the rain stick as well. I feel that this is a great tool to get the students to be quite and listen to her when she needs them to right away. The rain stick is a very soft yet perfect sound for the students to relax and quite down.
